Subject: RFC 2.6.3i
]I'm know I'm anachronistic, but I prefer PGP v. 2.6.3i.
]The program's strengths are undeniable:
]1 - It fits on a diskette
]2 - Requires minimal setup and NO installation. Simply
access the diskette and go.
]3 - For a single program, is probably the best peer
reviewed program ever
written.
]Can any current PGP version (5.0i onward) meet or beat
these attributes?
no,
but Disastry's pgp 2.6.3 multi 6
will see them and raise you tenfold
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/uiuc/disastry/263multi.htm
[1] not limited to md5
('big' problem which can only get much worse),
but accepts all hash algorithms currently used by gnupg, or
pgp
[2] not limited to IDEA,
accepts all symmetric ciphers used by gnupg/pgp
[3] not limited to 2048 keys
(can go up to 8192)
[4] able to handle 'throw keyid'
and even 'fake and random' keyids
(ideal for re-mailers)
and still open source and fits on a floppy
(even a 'bootable' floppy)
in default mode, Disastry's build functions exactly like
2.6.3i,
so it is a 'very easy' transition,
and for anyone who likes 2.6.3i,
vedaal
