Hi all,

Here's a part of my setup:

- - Running Thunderbird v1.5.05 with Enigmail 0.94.0.0

- - openpgp is enabled for a particular identity. However, I don't have
signing enabled since I don't wish all my messages to be auto-signed.

- - I have a per-recipient rules created for a couple addresses. These
addresses are set for auto-signing.

The per-recipient rules aren't working. I still have to manually enable
signing for the configured recipients.

Anyone else noting this. Is there something that I'm missing. Shouldn't
the per-recipient rules over-ride the identity settings?

In fact, on further checking, it would seem that the per-recipient rules
simply don't work.

Sure they work... if you _enable_ them.

It's not set to disabled here.

Mine is set to 'define rules manually'.

Hmmm... so is mine. I just created a rule for your address, and set it
to Always sign. I composed a message to you. No security icons were lit,
as expected. When I clicked Send, it signed the message, as expected.

I'm going to have to assume there's something wrong with your
installation (in which case, uninstall and reinstall Enigmail), or you
did not set the per-recipient rules for signing to "Always", but instead
have set "Yes, if selected in message" (in which case you need to light
the signing icon in the compose window).

Hmmm. Maybe I'm expecting the option to sign to be visibly enabled when
I hit the openPGP icon in the message composer?

Ok. I'll just send this message and see what happens. I have a
per-recipient rule created to 'Always' sign messages addressed to this list.

No. I have the 'Always' option set.

Ok. I'm fine. I made the mistake of expecting the per-recipient
mechanism to toggle the 'sign message' option to be visibly enabled.
When I didn't see it enabled, I assumed it wasn't working.

That's an explicit action and will be reflected in the compose window.
Per-recipient rules are utilized on Send, and so can't be reflected in
the compose window (ie, lit digital signature icon, or signing enabled
OpenPGP menu entry).

Signed message received
