If I recall correctly, it must be six characters long at
least, and
alpha-numeric only, ie only letters and digits.

Others may chime in with suggestions, having better
knowledge than I, but
perhaps you could ask this person to register a word you've
chosen (eg,
"coffee"), and do it via email command with a copy
going to you. Then you'd be
able to see exactly what she was doing, and pick up any
mistakes. Once that is
successful, she can go ahead and change it to something
else, to keep it
private.

The command for setting a password is:

PW ADD NEWPASSWORD

where NEWPASSWORD is the password of choice.

The command for resetting the password is:

PW RESET

after which a new password can be set with the first
command, or via the web
interface.

Note that these commands don't include the name of the list.
 Passwords are
specific to the server, not the list. Both commands will
probably invoke a
reply asking the sender to confirm before they are carried
out; instructions are
in the email that is sent.

Hope this helps.

I use the linux version, ClamAV on my mail servers.

Just because BellSouth scans your emails does not mean you are "safe." This
depends on whether or not whatever software BellSouth is using has it's
database updated regularly. It is still possible to get a virus even though
an AV program has declared an email or file "safe" simply because the virus
signature is not yet known by the scanner.

Best,

Ian
