If you're asking "has someone figured out a way to read the files
without knowing the passphrase", the answer is no.
If you're asking "have people played with the source code", the answer
is that some people have, yes. PGPdisk 6.0.2 is normally used as part
of PGP 6.5.8-CKT, which some people like quite a lot, but which I
strongly recommend people not use--specifically because I have grave
concerns about the competency of the people who have been playing with
the code.

While Microsoft has done an excellent job of making sure application
software works well between versions, they've done a _terrible_ job of
making drivers work well between versions. This is why you often see
different drivers for NT 3.51, Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98,
Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
PGPDisk is essentially a disk driver. It was tested with Windows 95, NT
3.51 and NT 4.0.
Windows XP = Windows NT 5.1.
If you want to take the risk of running an NT 4.0 driver on an NT 5.1
machine, feel free. I think it's a silly risk to take, especially when
TrueCrypt has been extensively tested with Windows XP.
Also, please note that unless you've got some special extenuating
circumstances, you cannot legally get PGPDisk 6.0.2. It is a breach of
copyright law to download it.

The PGPdisk driver is the one valid reason I know of that PGP's install requires
a reboot - starting the PGPsvc service and the PGPtray systray application
certainly do not.
Installing a version this old and an NT 4.0 driver? I've seen Windows 2000
drivers regularly blue screen XP systems. You're on your own.
You'll probably want to have a good backup of the registry and create a system
restore point *before* you try installing this. Installing the recovery console
as a boot choice and/or having a bootable installation CD handy are also highly
recommended.
Hopefully the installer will be merciful to you and not install on an OS it
doesn't recognize.

If we're talking about PGP 6.5.8-CKT, which we probably are, then you're
not in luck. Imad has made sure that it will install on Windows XP
machines.
I have been accused in the past of being a broken record on the subject
of CKT, so I'll stop with that.

"Accused" would mean not confirmed. <g>
Since there is no any technical facts on CKTs "wrongs", it is all just a
matter of a little bit of jealousy, no? (-; Not good for "novices" and
not good for educational purposes (in PGP/GPG regard), as for the
misinformations and misdirections being served thus up.
Technically speaking, Imad always was doing a great, useful and
interesting work.
