PGPDisk coming with pgp658ckt and pgp6.0.2i[nternational] will work with
no problems under XP(ee) -- although 6.0.2i is not intended for XP,
judging by its, PGP's, documentation.
I've been using them pretty long time to share encrypted containers
between Windows 98 SE Micro Lite Professional IVa Enterprise Millennium
and Windows XP(ee) Micro Lite Professional 1.6 with no problems (if we
ignore the significant slowdown of OSs, which is after all the property
of any "modern" PGP and relates not specifically to those versions).
But I think that True Crypt is better idea (it's free[ware], as any
privacy/security tool, in terms of Internet and so, should be, btw., or
at least the "personal" editions), although not very much better (since
you can share encrypted containers between e.g. 98se and XPee only by
using version 1.0), but if you use only XP than it's quite fine. A quite
good piece of software and slows down nothing.
There is version for Linux too, although with newer kernels only
(2.6.something) and some additional OS "tweaking" (couldn't catch a time
to try this one myself yet).
Besides, who knows, wonders happen, the leading and renowned by
proverbial quality GnuPG could one day grasp how significant would be to
make a GPGDisk for all OS platforms, spending thus less time for
dysfunctional and delusory built-in mechanical WOT, for instance, and
more of it for something really useful, safe and a warm smile evoking.
