one could generate it on a laptop, e-mail it to a friend,
and then have the laptop crash/ break/ be lost/ etc. before having a
chance to upload the public key to a server
this becomes a problem if it is an encrypting subkey, and the
originator receives e-mail encrypted to that subkey,
the thing to do then is to revoke it, and start with a new subkey
vedaal
