You are much better off simply using the PGP Tray icon for
all your PGP
needs when using The Bat for a Mail Client. Here is a URL
that should get
you the latest PGP Freeware:

http:/
/www.pgp.com/downloads/desktoptrial2.php

Why not using the support of GnuPG and PGP offered by TheBat
in order
to be able to use PGP-MIME?

Not all Mail Clients are PGP-MIME capable, but you are right
that The Bat
incorporates PGP very nicely. Either way...TB's PGP Plugin
or using PGP
Tray one cannot go wrong. However, I still contend that
GnuPG is a dead end
for XP Users...v2.0 will never be ported to XP so what is
the purpose in
using it. PGP already has a working version for Vista, so in
my estimation
PGP is the way to go for XP Users.

Nick,

What is wrong with GnuPG 1.4.6 at the moment? I use it with
GPGshell
and with Thunderbird and do not have a problem. What
advantages do
GnuPG 2.0.* and PGP have that GnuPG 1.4.6 does not?

Not trying to be argumentative, I am just trying to
understand what
there is to gain by switching from GnuPG on XP.

Maybe the way for (potential) Vista users is to switch to
Linux? (ducks
as he runs out of the kitchen )
