Description:

Will provide technical leadership, design and coding for development and/or release teams for projects supported by Kaiser IT's Web Development Group.

Responsibilities:

Will be the technical expert on a project/release team. ; Takes ownership of escalated issues, decides between competing solutions and arbitrates between project teams in a release. Heavily involved in mentoring project teams on design approaches that use Kaiser's service-oriented architecture(SOA)best practices and reuse opportunities. Works with the Architecture and Strategy teams within Kaiser to research new technology and development approaches and create best practices around them. Advises on optimal work breakdown to allow the release to take advantage of reuse, standard designs/frameworks and SOA.

Provides assistance with, and review of, the load testing team's test plans and test cases to ensure early and appropriate load testing is done. Leads early Critical Component Load Testing  typically focusing on areas of high risk/importance in a release, before system is ready for full integrated load testing. Ensures release conforms to all security standards and other non-functional requirements. Socializes and mentors the use of good design practices and KP best practices and standards

The ideal candidate will be very proactive and self directed. He/she will take initiative in solving complex technical problems in areas which may be outside their technical expertise and coming up with original solutions and design approaches to new project requirements.

Basic qualifications:

10+ years experience in IT/OO design/development/architecture;

Java/J2EE Design/Development; Experience leading and mentoring development teams in design and development best practices; Strong interpersonal, influencing and communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Portal Technologies, Architecture, Design, Development and Best Practices; SOA and Enterprise Service Bus; WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Portal;JSR 168/286 and WSRP

;SOAP/Web Services/WS-I;Web Application Security and single sign on technologies; Unix/AIX/Linux; Rational Application Developer or Eclipse;Agile development methodologies

;Borland Together or other Design tools

;Oracle and Database Design
