SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing and developing software solutions that support process and system automation initiatives across the telecommunications business. The incumbent will provide technical expertise and demonstrate informal leadership in order to successfully achieve department strategies and tactics in a timely and professional manner.

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

· Designing and documenting software implementation strategies in order to automate business processes and systems
· Reviewing requirement documents
· Developing custom software solutions
· Testing software solutions
· Communicating with a broad cross-section of groups and/or individuals to conduct needs analysis, define and refine design specifications
· Leading the coordination and communication of software implementation strategies

Secondary job functions include, but are not limited to:

· Developing technical documentation of business software solutions
· Mentoring and supporting less-senior developers to ensure individual and team success

Required knowledge, skills and abilities include:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field; or equivalent education and experience
· Seven (7) years experience in software design
· Ten (10) years experience in software engineering, programming, and analysis
· Demonstrates advanced proficiency programming in Unix environment using Java, SOAP, and XML
· Effective working in a fast paced Joint Application Development (JAD) environment
