Website Engineer at Jive Software

 

Summary

We are looking for a self-motivated and technically solid engineer to own website development. We run a commercial site (jivesoftware.com) as well as a couple of open source project websites (jivesoftware.org is one of them). We are also looking to expand our e-commerce and CRM integration capabilities. Ideally, you will be an engineer with 2-4 years of Java server-side development experience and you will be comfortable with project management.

 

This is more than your typical website job where you might just update a webpage or two or run database reports. We view this as a strategically important position and we also believe it's an opportunity to work with the latest technologies. If things like MySQL, Java, WebWork, Sitemesh, HTML, Javascript, CSS, SVN and Ant pique your interest then you might be what we're looking for.

 

Responsibilities

• Development: Add new website features, maintain existing code, enhance e-commerce functionality, and refine integration with our CRM system
• Project Management: Gather requirements and create project plans for development efforts

 

Required Skills and Experience

• Solid Java, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and AJAX, and Database skills
• Proficiency with JSP, Servlet and JDBC technologies
• Requirements gathering and project planning

 

Additional Desired Skills and Experience

• Using and Developing with Salesforce
• Using and maintaining applications running on Resin and MySQL

Compensation & Benefits

 

Jive Software has a very generous benefits program, which includes profit-sharing, health, dental and vision insurance, and 401(k). Compensation is partially based on experience and is negotiable.
