Rapid Application Developer

Job ID: 1094

Location: Portland

Contract: 2 months

 

As a Rapid Application Developer, the developer will participate in an agile

application development team developing eBusiness applications based on

leading edge technology. Our goal is the delivery of new functionality to

market as quickly as possible while ensuring the privacy and integrity of

our members' information. You'll be collocated with a business unit and

work in short sprints to complete small releases.

 

The Rapid Application Developer works directly with the business unit to

gather requirements, design, and develop new functionality and

applications. You'll develop Java based software for Websphere Application

Server using Rational Application Developer. You'll be involved from the

initial vision of the product through the completion of unit testing and

correction of defects.

 

In addition to the work the Rapid Application Developer performs, the Lead

leads small groups of developers to complete small releases with minimal

supervision. You'll utilize your strong interpersonal skills and your

ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written. You'll also

work closely in monitoring schedules and taking the application through

implementation.

 

Qualifications:

*4 years experience in a Unix/Windows environment.

*2 years experience with PL/SQL and/or Object Relational Mapping

*BA/BS Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a

related field. Appropriate additional experience beyond the minimum

required experience may be substituted for education.

 

Significant experience with:

*Object Oriented Analysis and Design

*UML, use cases and sequence diagrams

*J2EE including Enterprise JavaBeans and software architecture patterns

*Struts framework

*JUnit

*Calling and consuming Web Services

*Proficiency with Javascript and XML

*Websphere Studio Application Developer or Rational Application Developer

tools.

*Agile development methodologies Scrum or

 

Possess the ability to:

*Participate in and/or facilitate Joint Application Development JAD

sessions

*Develop positive relationships among clients, coworkers and management.

*Work independently as well as within a team

*Effectively adapt to rapidly changing technologies and apply them to

business needs.
