You're right.

I was afraid of that. I don't have a Yahoo account that I
know of, and
don't want one. You need one to use the " Reply (via
web post)" option
as well. I suspect that would give you better quoting
options, but it
would also lock you into whatever they have for a mail
editing application.
(I've been on the mail list for so long, I don't remember
how I got
here. It would have been shortly after the GE bulletin board
thing was
sold off and abandoned. I believe I was using a black and
white laptop
and running DOS. I think the registration process went
through SoftLogik
at the time. In any case, I don't remember needing to get a
username and
password.)

Not that it matters, but in my case Netscape 8.1.2 opens.
It's based on
Firefox but can also switch to an Internet Explorer display
engine and
frequently works with sites that require IE. I do have
Firefox but I
rarely use it. Since installing Firefox 2 in the background
I haven't
opened it at all.
Anyway, my workaround works fine as you can see and doesn't
really add
any noticeable time to my correspondence, so I'll probably
just keep
going this way.
