HL 2040 printer with Pagestream

I don't realy care how it works as long as I can get it to
work.  I do 
have Ghostscript installed.  Pagestream is set for HP
laserjet 4 
postscript printing to PS:  In turboprint, I have laserjet 4
selected 
as well.

If you have a PostScript capable printer -- then you do not
use TurboPrint.
TurboPrint and GhostScript are used if the event that you do
NOT have a
PostScript printer. Someone doubts that your Brother HL 2040
is a PostScript
printer. I don't know and you have not clarified the point.

If the HL 2040 is not a PostScript printer, then you are out
of luck with
respect to TurboPrint, since version 7.6 of TurboPrint (the
latest, I think)
only has two Brother printer drivers:

    Brother_24-Pin,   Brother_9-Pin

and it is not bloody likely that one of the above will drive
your HL 2040 with
any grace. However, maybe PageStream has a Brother driver
and forget
TurboPrint. In 'Softlogik:Printers/XPD' you'll find the list
of printers that
PageStream caters to. However, not a single Brother printer
is listed there.

If your HL 2040 is truly a PostScript printer, then in
'Softlogik:Printers/PPD'
there is no subdirectory for Brother. However, you could try
'.General'  but
much better to install the proper PPD file for your printer
and then do the
PostScript thing in PageStream.

Mac.

However, you need to know how it works in order to get it to
work.

So you most likely need to change the Turboprint setting to
HL2040.

After all the other side topic mail on the subject, I still

think you have it up and running.... :(
