Have a look in the manual that came with the printer and see
if it is GDI,
Postscript, or emulates a LaseJet 4 - or whatever. It might
mention PCL6.

If the printer is GDI it will only work with windows as the
printer as next
to no computing capabilities, that is do on the computer. I
don't think
there has been software written for Linux to drive a GDI
printer.

If the printer has postscript capability you should be able
to downoad a ppd
for it from the manufacturers web site. Or just use the
LaserJet4ML ppd.

If the printer is PCL6 capable (most modern non GDI
printers) using a HP
printer driver for a LJ5M will work as it is PCL5.

TurboPrint only has PCL5 drivers for Amiga. They are doing
some PCL6 for
Linux but (unfortunately) not writing them for Amiga.
