Hello,

Should one use the file PageStream5.rsc in the home
directory and starts with:

MENU #2000
    MTITLE #100 L:"_File"
        MITEM #101 K:<Menu>N L:"_New..."
:Create a new document

or the file in the Locale sub-directory and starts with:

LANGUAGE fr
STRING M#2000 A#100 :Fichier
    #DEFAULT :_File

            STRING B#101 :Nouveau...
            #DEFAULT :_New...

As both look very different I wanted to ask. Thanks

Bye

Hello Philippe,

it's a matter of what you want to use!
That doesn't help, ain't it .

OK. If you use the American version you use
PageStream5.rsc.
However if you set in Preferences / Interface / Locale on
Francais, then
you use the Locale / PageStream5_fr.rsc.

Now I do a bit of guessing:
When a new version of PGS comes out, then there could be
some new menu
items or changed PGS-windows.
Then I add a line in UserPrefs / PageStream5.ini namely:
RSRCEXPORT TRUE
When I open PGS now it writes the new items in
PageStream5_fr.rsc (and
also in any other _fr.rsc!!). I then can change the new text
to match
the language, in this case: Français.
After this I immediately remove that sentence in
PageStream5.ini,
because every time I open PGS it does that same rewrite.

(The guessing part is that I don't know if it really works
that way,
meaning PageStream5.rsc new items is added to
Pagestream5_fr.rsc, and
any other _fr.rsc. But the way I described this, gives this
result in
the real PGS-world)

So, if you need French / Français (or any other language
except
American), you need both (in some way).

Theo
