Running PGS Windows 5034 Pro (and 5031 and 4158) and have
suddenly lost
printing.
Running on a Dell with lots memory and disk space and XP
SP2.
Trying to print to a HP Color LaserJet 2550L with extra
on-board memory -
192 Mb if I recall right.
I'd been using the appropriate (or close) PPD for the past
12-18 months at
least and have had no problems - I can't recall if this is a
"real"
Postscript Printer or somehow it fakes it, but it's worked,
anyway.
I swear I've changed nothing but a printer toner cartridge -
it was printing
fine on Friday, then had to finally renew the yellow toner
(yes, it's a
kosher HP one) and Saturday I started a new document and I'm
getting
nothing.
It runs a smallish (12Mb or so) file to the printer dialog
box and the
printer's lights indicate that it's receiving, then.
nothing.
Just to try other methods I went into PGS Print setup and
switched to
Windows printing but to no avail - it hangs and reports lack
of memory and
no printing.
But it prints/saves a Bitmap image fine.
All other software prints fine.
I never had printing problems since very early V5, but I
seem to recall that
there's a 'fix' or alternate way to get it to work if it
doesn't, if you
understand me.
Can anyone recover my brain cells and remind me what that
is? I've looked at
the website help but to no avail.
