When you choose "Save as PDF", you should get
several options to
compress or not compress the "page" data and the
"bitmap" data. The
most recent versions will disable the popup if the
compression modules
are not found, but the should be in every distribution. They
are found
in SoftLogik/Special/ and are named something like Ascii85,
AsciiHEX,
Flate (which is the compressor that reduces the size the
most).
