You 'set' or 'unset' "Select Text on Paste"; by entering
File -> Preferences... -> Files
and 'check' or "leave unchecked" the option "Select Text on Paste";. I've always
used it. However, this is simply an option with respect to highlighting (or
not) any textual material that is pasted using the simple PASTE operation.
