I made half a circle and could fill this:
I used the arc tool (the first one after the circle). This made me a a
partly circle from 90 degrees to 360 degrees.
I changed 90 degrees to 180 degrees, and get a half circle.
Now I can fill this half (Object/Line & Fill)!
You could alternatively change the form(s) you have into a path
(Object/Path/Convert to path), and try to fill this.
3D: Another way is to transform (copy) the object many times
horizontal/vertical and make each new object a tint lighter (Fade to... >>).
The fill can be Gradient and you can change the angle of that Gradient.
