You're a lot better off than the rest of us, then.

It doesn't work at all here (Amiga).

not to make light of your circumstance, but "the rest of us" refers to
non-Windows and non-Linux users which is not an insignificant number.

Things progress and no release version apparently has the font embed control
Deron refered to which indicates new compiles are just getting better. Just a
matter of getting them to releases (as if that were a little job, I know).

It took me a while to understand fonts on the Amiga. I am just starting to
sort of understand fonts on linux. I think some of the fonts I have on
this system are corrupt - that is pagestream will not print
them yet I do not want to delete them completely. It would be nice to be
able to give pagestream linux a list of fonts to display in the font
selector and also to be able to give it a default serif, sans serif
and fixed width font to start with rather than having it default to
the first fonts in the alpha betic list of fonts (which happens to be one
that does not print). Anyway when you want times or helvetica as your
default font you wast a lot of time paging through a menu.

Perhaps I am missing something in the manual

Just where is the embedding pop up for fonts. I have PGS linux 5.0.3.4
Pro and I am staring at all the things associated with fonts and I am
not getting a pop up for embedding.

Deron mentioned it, but it appears to be only on his in-house development
version.

You can set a default font under Preferences, Type, in the Attributes area
click the Edit button. It doesn't have the nicety of a default serif, sans
serif and fixed width that you mention, but you can at least set it to a font
that works.

As best as I can tell the issue with the non-working fonts is that PageStream
is very particular about the fonts. So it may work just find in other
applications, but not in PageStream.

At this point I wish there were a check box in the File/System
Preferences/Fonts... dialog for "Exclude System Fonts";. For most people
including the system fonts is a good thing, but for others it can be more of
a pain than anything else. I know I would have the box checked if it existed.

Don,

I assume you mean OS4 Amiga, since the last version of 68k Amiga
(6-19-06) was 5.0.3.3beta (pro). It always crashes whenever I attempt
to open a file. While starting up, it complains about a missing
.rsc in SoftLogik/Printers. I'm still using 4.1.5.6 pro for everything.

To be fair to Deron, I haven't had a working AmigaOne for over two
years and a working 68k Amiga (with ppc card) for over 5 years. I'm
doing everything on WinUAE, and PageStream is the main reason I'm
using WinUAE.

I've owned the OS4 for version of PageStream for about 3 years, but
unfortunately my AmigaOne died just as Deron finally got his AmigaOne.
