The 'DAMN' was because when previewing my message, the boldface, italic, and
underlined characters had been replaced with the ** // __ stuff. I've pretty
much given up using Bold, Italic, Underlined, Colored in YAM since it seems
totally chaotic as to when it will work and when not.

TZ> Maybe a better monitor? Withdrawn at once when I saw what you have .

Actually a better monitor would be nice. 1600x12?? cannot be handled here, and
when working on photo albums that would be better. As someone pointed out,
photos in PageStream sometimes look kind of crappy (grainy), but are
spectacular when printed. For example, the same photo when rendered by PicShow
or MultiView or BME looks much better than when displayed in PageStream. But,
in case someone gets the wrong impression, these comments are NOT intended as
a complaint.

Nonetheless, I'll try Jonny Johansson's idea of a Sys:Prefs/GUI fiddle.

LATER: It worked!! Not perfect, but a great improvement.

TZ> Okay: come and sit closer to the monitor.

Good try! I'm close enough and vision is okay.

Yes, after some trials, I can see how your comment above applies.

<<;snip>>
TZ> But that doesn't help you to see the differences if it is a P (yes:

TZ> Your old monitor didn't have this 1280x1024 size, I presume. So all the

My OLD monitor! My God, it's max resolution was about 680x420 (somewhere in
there) and when I switched to the Samsung (with AmigaOne) it was a moment of
glory. Indeed images did grow smaller. Of course, now that I'm used to it,
the Samsung is not quite good enough!

However, even on the old Commodore monitor, I used to have colour galore with
PageStream but don't recall how I set that up.

TZ> Maybe Deron should make that in a preferences also, when I am buying a
TZ> QSXGA monitor (2560x2048) before I'm buying a magnifying glass also.

2560x2048!!! Unreal. The monitor must be about 6'x4' (that's feet) in size, and
after you get it mounted on a wall somewhere, a wall with a good load-bearing
structure, then you can use a small telescope (from the far end of the room) to
read the screen.

TZ> Menu Window/Remember Window Positions after you placed all the windows

Thanks to your suggestion, I have NOW! ) And it works great. OUTSTANDING!!!
The 'Navigator' won't stay where I want him/her, but that's okay. Many thanks.

I think this may have been mentioned, but this is probably due to the
image being loaded or left external? If left external, PGS only places
a rough guide of what the picture is, not the actual picture, for
viewing purposes. It helps speed up display.

I recently got a graphics card for my Amiga & I have to say that
photos render perfectly here, but then, I always load them. Leaving
them external can cause problems if you later move the picture!

To see if the image is external or loaded, just click once on the
picture, then go to Edit/Information. There is a tick box at the
bottom, marked external. If ticked, the picture is not loaded and you
can choose the quality of the image shown.

At least, that's how I understand it and loaded pictures look perfect
here. By perfect, in 24bit quality.
