At home I use Windows XP Professional, SP2. I have 2 GB of RAM and an
AMD 3800 processor. I have also installed the program on my work
machine. That one also has Windows XP Pro, 2 GB of RAM and an Intel
Pentium D 2.80 GHz processor.

PGS 5.0.4.3 Pro beta will crash if I try to save a postscript file,
or to "save as PDF". Every time.

I started with the Atari version. As far as I remember that didn't
crash so much, but I had problems making postscript files on that one
too.

The previous version crashed at different points. I remember having
problems with tables. Plus it made corrupt postscript files. Tim Doty
of this list helped me finding a way to convert the PS file to PDF,
but then I had to delete some lines in the PS file and use
Ghostscript instead of Adobe Distiller.

Okay, but what about other versions? 5.0.4.3 is a beta that has bugs that
cause it to crash like that.

Ah... I remember that. Provided the information to Deron. Not sure what came
of it. Definitely not normal (which doesn't help you).

I freely admit I'm no expert, but it seems to me there is something in
your files causing the crash.

Some questions arise:

1. Is it the same file causing the crash to both pdf & postscript
output?

2. Does saving and printing the file normally cause a crash?

3. How exactly, does it crash? What error shows up?

4. Does the crashing happen with other files at the same point, or
different points, or not at all?

Pagestrea, generally, is very stable on my systems, Amiga V4 (V 5just
won't start, known about) & Windows V5. I haven't downloaded the
latest beta.

Have you tried using the latest non-beta version to do what you want?
Does that crash? At the same place ordifferent?

As you can see, to narrow the problem down, you do have to be a lot
more specific.
