Hi Gil, not trying to put any pressure on you to report or anything
and hope you get well. Here are my immediate thoughts.
The eMac is fairly old with I believe a G4 processor. As far as I can
tell they shipped with 10.2 though it may be possible to update them
to 10.3 or newer. I'm not in a position to test anything older than
10.4 at the moment and not even that for much longer.
But other than the OS X version do you know if there are any account
limitations? Is it a network login or a local login? Where I work we
use a network login to the system and even though its been a while
since I've done that kind of support I recall there being some issues
with the scheme. Further, OS X provides a variety of ways to limit
accounts which the school might be taking advantage of (I know they
did where I work).
If the school is moving to linux that provides its own challenges but
I have recently gained even more experience with installing PgS on
linux and would be very willing to help in any way I can with either
OS X or linux use.
