Yeah, it might not have been thought out perfectly. But like
I said, 
users that do not care for this behavior should just disable
the option 
by setting the paramter to %s.

that still doesn't cover the (frequent?) case
of having indices created sometimes with MDB2
and sometimes manually. The new code should take
care of this transparently.
