Hi all,
There are only 4 days remaining in the referendum on PEAR's
future. If
you have not voted, please vote, even if you are uncertain
about the
best choice. If you are uncertain, please vote
"abstain" so that we can
accurately tally both acceptance and participation.
As for how the election results will be used, this will not
be like
other elections where the majority trumps the minority
absolutely.
Assuming that the vote is not 100% for one solution, once a
winner is
tallied, I would like to open discussion for changes that
need to be
made to the winning government system to make it better.
Once a
reasonable amount of time has been spent discussing issues,
and we can
be sure that those in the minority opinions have had their
grievances
with the new system (if any) addressed, we will transition
to whatever
the new system will be.
Of course, if the vote is in favor of keeping things the way
they are,
then we will honor that request as well and try to get
things running
better.
No matter what, I promise the process of discussing any
needed changes
will be short and sweet (no more than a month), and we'll
get things
running smoothly in no time. With any luck at all,
development will
simply get easier for PEAR folks immediately after the
transition.
