This is an interesting requirement to revisit.  What other
formats are
we interested in supporting (read: requiring)?  Here's a
possible
complete list:

    Plain text
    HTML (simple)
    HTML/PHP (complex)
    Compressed HTML (HTMLHelp / Windows Help)
    Manpages
    PDF

To really push it there could be latex.
