Election results

``Ladies and gentlemen... It's a Tie.''

Hey all,

As you may have noticed, there's a tie in the PEAR Group
election results.
Congratulations are in order to Martin Jansen, David
Coallier, Arnaud 
Limbourg, Joshua Eichorn, Christian Weiske, and Helgi
Žormar.
On the 7th place, we have a tie between Paul M Jones, and
Justin Patrin.

Anyone have any good ideas on how to come to a satisfactory
conclusion on 
this subject?

This is currently being discussed between those elected. At
the moment
the consensus is that the top 6 Group members will vote for
the
seventh member and in the case of a tie Greg, as president,
would
break the tie.

Of course we could also allow an 8 member Group since this
is how the
election turned out and have Greg be a tie breaker in the
case of any
ties...

NEW THOUGHT: are we keeping minutes?

Anything the president, or the pear group officially decide
should be
permanently recorded in public view. I don't care if they
have closed
discussions, but the outcome of all activities has to be
transparent.

we think of later... 
PRESENT:         (list of names)
DATE:            (date of this item's being recorded)
SUBJECT: Regarding the matter of the tie in the pear group
elections on
1-May-2007

The 6, newly elected members, after informal discussion on
the mailing list
and iirc, have selected [WINNER] as the 7th member of the
Pear group.


Then every time one of the common Qs pops up on the mailing
list. like, how
many times have we discussed the E_NOTICE topic with the
answers always
being "it's somewhere in the CS, or look in the mail
list archives..." the
pres or pear group can just stamp it permanently into the
minutes once and
forever.

AND then we can put in announcements of the new president
(congrats greg!)
and the new pear group to start (and each year when we
elect. )

Looks like we have quite a good team - wide choice and
well-selected.
