Net_URL2, again

Hi,

Well, there was no reaction from Richard Heyes to the
previous mail
http://marc.info/?l=pear-dev&m=117745269511661&
;w=2
so it's safe to assume that he either isn't reading the
email published on PEAR 
website or doesn't care.

It is pretty safe to assume that Net_URL is abandoned, since
last activity in 
CVS is 2+ years ago, last activity in bug tracker is 1+ year
ago.

I basically see 2 ways out:
1) Someone comes up with a working contact of Richard
2) Newly elected PEAR group takes some action (like in
assigning another lead 
developer for Net_URL)

I have tried emailing him as well.. no answer.

I assigned it to me for the time being. I will fix a couple
bugs, then
make a release. Once this is done an released, I will start
looking at
how far Net_URL2 is, and try to make a package soon enough.

I think Net_URL2 is a straight port of Net_URL to PHP5, it
may make sense to 
release it as it is now (porting all fixes from Net_URL, of
course) and then 
review the possibility of changes to the API.
