I contend that it is not the same. 


 


The idea behind publishing to the future is precisely 
that you do not have to come back to do anything to make the post appear at the 
right date and time.


 


Another example: One could publish four weeks of weekly 
posts before leaving for a vacation to a lonely island, with no internet or the 
likes, or before leaving for a conference, or a tough work 
trip.

Juancarlo,

Although automatic 'future-posting' is a cool 
  feature that I'd also like, what you describe can easily get accomplished by 
  writing the posts and keep them unpublished, and publish them as you see 
  fit.
