Thread: Category search fails after upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3

Category search fails after upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3
country flaguser name
United States
2008-03-19 19:58:57
When I click one of the categories in the side bar the
following message is
returned:

Search results
"category:/10"
Sorry, no results were found.

Yet the category link in the sidebar displays as:

Webtest (4)

Same deal for all categories. I have reindexed the blog, and
normal
searching for a keyword works fine.

And ideas for a solution?

Thanks

Dale

Hi Dale,

Do you get any errors in the logs?

Cheers

No, redindexing does not fix it. However, I just added a new
category, plus
a post linked to it, and that category seems to work.
Searching by that new
category finds the post, none of the old ones work.

Looks like it is to do with ID's using numbers.

Old Fails

ID=10
Name=Webtest

New Succeeds

ID=Webdev
Name=Web Development

New Fails
ID=15
Name=Misc

I, too, had the same issue but was able to fix it by asking
Pebble to
recreate its index files. If logged in as an admin user, go
to
Configuration > Utilities and then click on the Reindex
link under
General utilities. Perhaps this will work for you.

I had a look in the raw logs available from Pebble, as
opposed to any log on
the file system. This would be the relevant entry, nothing
else.

10.3.17.129 - - [25/Mar/2008:09:15:57 +1300] "GET
/categories/11/" 200 -
"http://dogilvie.ap.trimblecorp.net:8080/pebble/c
ategories/" "Mozilla/5.0
(Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12)
Gecko/20080201
Firefox/2.0.0.12"

Nothing in the tomcat logs either. Perhaps there is another
place to look?

I think I know how to fix this. Try the following :

(1) Login to Pebble
(2) Go to the plugins page (Configuration -> Plugins)
(3) Change the Lucene analyzer to
org.apache.lucene.analysis.standard.StandardAnalyzer

Let me know if that works.

Cheers

What are your category names/IDs?
