Rob,

I saw that same problem when I had my mail resource
configuration
stuffed up.  catalina.out just had the SEVERE message and
wasn't
helpful, but then localhost*.log had NoClassDefFoundError:
javax/mail/Session.  The problem is I didn't deploy the mail
jars to
the tomcat lib directory.
