Hi,

obviously you don't seem to use eclipse for building pebble.
This
results in compiler errors upon checkout (for missing
generated source
files) and some mismatched jar versions. I've gone through
them and
prepared a patch for the current trunk version that

* adds an Ant Builder to generate required code in
net.sourceforge.pebble.dao.file
* creates a WST project able to be added to a server (tested
for a
Tomcat 6 server)
* corrects the library dependencies to currently used
versions as far as
I've currently needed to get pebble started
* adds the libraries (as currently needed) to the servers
runtime
environment.

I've attached the patch to this mail and hope that it will
go through to
the list. If not, I'll post an URL to the patch soon.

Simon, feel free to add this to svn if you like. If you
don't like too
much different IDE-stuff in svn, that's fine with me -
whoever is
interested in this stuff will hopefully find it here.

I've applied the patch to a fresh checkout myself and needed
the
following steps to successfully run the initial version:

(My Environment: Java6, Eclipse Europa with WST and the
other usual EE
stuff, SVN plugin)

To apply the patch
* Checkout pebble trunk (currently at v 394)
* In Eclipse, choose the pebble project and then Team/Apply
patch,
ignore leading 5 directories (they are /home/olaf/....)

To use pebble in a dev environment tomcat server
* Create a new "Server", choose Tomcat6 and
configure according to the
wizards needs
* Add pebble to the server
* start the server
* go to http://localhost:8080/pe
bble

I hope this helps getting started, if somebody needs it.

(If there had been a simpler solution - let me know

Cheers,
Olaf
