Setting up pebble as part on another web app

Hi all,
I'm new to this pebble thing and am after some advice.

We have an existing web application and we'd like to add a
blog to
it. We'll want to style up the blog to look like the main
site. The
menu's and such in the header of this site are generated
dynamically
by querying a database. The menu's are available are also
dependent
on the users log in state.

The users log in state is maintained in the session.

To get the blog integrated what would you recommend.
Should I
      a) Try and incorporate pebble in our existing web
project.
      b) Copy across the bits of logic needed for menu's to
a
separate pebble project.

If I go for b then I'll need to do something to let it
know whether
the user is logged in as well. The most obvious being some
sort of
cookie check.

I'd also love to know how to get pebble set up as a stand
alone web
project in eclipse. I can get it up and going as a java
application,
but that means i need to run the ant build anytime I change
something.

Cheers,
Pete

I'd opt for installing pebble side-by-side with your other
web
application and figure out how to use something like
tomcats
SingleSignOnValve (see commented section in conf/server.xml)
to provide
a seamless sign on experience. If you change pebble for
integration, the
user database part would be the target to change.

Last month I posted a patch that adds these files. Please
search the
archives of this list.

Cheers,
Olaf

I have Pebble 2.2 as an Eclipse Project using the Eclipse
existing Ant build feature. I can rebuild Pebble anytime
from within Eclipse but it is still using Ant (recommended).
The most reliable method is to use the Eclipse SVN plugin
with the Pebble trunk. HTH.
