thanks!

Hi,

I have no problems operating the current development version
on Tomcat
6. In production I have the previous version on Tomcat 5.5 -
however, I
don't understand what you did:
* copied pebble.war to tomcats webapp folder
* started tomcat
(this usually deploys and starts pebble without the need for
the manager
application)
* ...then you did what with tomcats manager?

What's your setup? Do you start tomcat by executing
bin/startup.bat or
as a service? What Java version are you using? Which version
of tomcat
exactly?

Cheers,
Olaf

Hi,

I have been able to reproduce your problem with pebble 2.3,
which
refuses to start on tomcat6 but not on 5.5.

There is a version 2.3.1, that you'll find on
http://sou
rceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=79200&packag
e_id=80613&release_id=583471
- it is not currently linked as the stable version on
http://pebble.sf.net (but
should - hint to Simon)

The changelogs says:

Version 2.3.1 - 11th March 2008
-------------------------------
Added code to prevent Pebble from not starting up if
mail.jar and
activation.jar are not on the server classpath (for e-mail
integration).

Please try if this (or providing mail.jar and
activation.jar) fixes your
problem.

Cheers,
Olaf
