I know a lot of digiRebel users...  none of them would EVER
consider the 
50/1.8.  "It doesn't zoom" is the most often heard
reason.  sheesh.  It 
is a noisy flimsy little lens, but wow, is it ever value for
money.

I think every digiRebel user I know has one. But both the
camera groups I'm part of tend to recommend those things as
the first lens to buy after the kit lens. Usually by the
'try mine' method.
