Hi.
I am unable to complete the installation
process for PDK 7.0 beta 3.

I started with just a stock WinXP install
running in a VM on Parallels Desktop for Mac
Build 1970.

It is configured with 768 MB of RAM
and 8GB of disk, of which over 6GB are
unallocated.

I installed Activestate products from
these three files in this order:

ActivePerl-5.8.8.819-MSWin32-x86-267479.msi
ActiveTcl8.4.14.0.272572-win32-ix86-threaded.exe
License_PDKDeploymentTools_Win32.exe

The above all succeeded.

Then, I attempted to install this file:
PDK-Pro-6.9.92.275147-Beta.msi

Which came from this URL:
http://www.activestate.com
/Products/Download/Download.plex?id=PerlDevKit&type=beta

and I got an error during the installation that looks like
this:

    Status: Updating component registration

    Internal Error 2908.

Pressing the OK button yielded another error
which looked like this:

    Status: Copying new files

An error ocurred during the installation of
    assembly
    'PERLRT69.dll,Version="6.9.92.13003". Please
refer to Help and Support for more
    information. HRESULT: 0x8002802F

Any ideas about how to get this to work?

Could you please let me know which versions of the .NET
Framework
are installed on that machine. This command should list
them:

    dir %SystemRoot%Microsoft.NETFrameworkv*

I'm just guessing, but I think you may need to install the
.NET
Framework 1.0 or 1.1. to get PerlNET installed.

If you don't care about PerlNET, then you may get the
installation
to succeed by disabling the PerlNET component in the
component
selection screen of the installer. Even if you do this,
please
let me know which Frameworks you have installed.

Cheers,
-Jan
