On the 22nd of June there are terrier races at Jevington in
Sussex
(which has a very nice pub, the Eight Bells, the roast pork
comes with
very good crackling). Should I borrow my neighbour's Jack
Russell and
enter it?

Can't we just get one of them "walker dogs" from
Hamley's and a couple
of high power glow-plug engines to make it a bit more fun ?
But yes I can vouch for The Eight Bells.

Given the author, I assumed the phrasing was selected most
carefully.

Heh, given the mailing list I should have read though the
thread to
see if someone had already made the same gag and executed it
much
better to boot.
