Can I open the PPM4 GUI without synchronizing the repositories?

Hi All,

I'm using a lot Active State Perl on Windows boxes. I'm
actually using AS Perl 5.8.8 build 819, which comes with
PPM4 that uses a GUI.
The problem is that every time you open PPM it will
synchronize the repositories and that really take while
before it completes.
Is there a way to temporarily stop the synchronization, but
still be able to add modules?

every command you launch!

Thanks for reading, ... and answering,

No.

But the intention is that the repo updates only should have
to happen
when there are actual updates in the repo. For the
"ActiveState Repo"
that would only be once every week with the current update
schedule.

Do you really see PPM downloading the database every time it
starts
up?
