Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself (I just
joined
today). I've been looking for a place where I could talk
to other
techs that are trying to do more for techs all over. I have
been a
tech since 1990 when I was in high school (I started in
retail and
spent 3 years there). In 1993 I went over to our community
hospital
where I worked until this past January. I love being a tech
but I
couldn't stand working there anymore--noone wanted anything
more than
what they had and since I love to learn new things it just
wasn't the
place for me anymore. I've been certified since 1996 so I
figured
with that I'd see what else I could do. Now, I am the
pharmacy tech
instructor at a new business school in our area and I love
it! I am
building the curriculum as I go along. It's really
challenging but
it's a great advancement for me personally (hey, who
wouldn't want
more money for less hours?) I'm already looking at being a
program
director within the next 6 months and I couldn't be
happier. Now I'd
like to talk to other educators to get some pointers that I
can use
in my classes. I only have 7 students but I'll be getting
7 more at
the start of the next term in a few weeks.
Thanks for letting me share. I'm really looking foward to
talking to
you all again!
