H2 Blockers versus H1 Blockers

Hi Michael,

After careful consideration, I am willing to concede and
will change
the question on the practice quiz to indicate which
antihistamine is
not used for allergies.

I suppose we could categorize both H1 blockers and H2
blockers as
antihistamines and therefore the question could be confusing
for
some.

Thank you for your insight and determination in getting the
record
straight.

Joe,

Just wanted to let you know that I respect your opinion
and
appreciate the fact that you did some research to find out
what I am
really all about. I think those of us who really love to
educate,
such as Jeanetta, yourself and myself will help this
profession
progress and grow!

I do not want to clutter up your forum with debate over
classical
antihistamines vs H2 antagonists . I don't have any
problem with
debate over the issue though. I actually love to debate and
do
reasearch on a topic to try to find out the
"true" meaning or
answer. I am stubborn and persistent, which sometimes gives
people
the wrong impression. However, my intentions are good and
speak to
find out the answers to the questions I debate.

I would be happy to drop this issue if you do not wish to
discuss
it further. If you do wish to, I found a couple of
articles to
support my use of the term antihistamine to refer to H2
blockers/antagonists. One link refers to both as
antihistamines and
the H1's as "classical antihistamines"

I don't have any problem admitting I am wrong sometimes
and
learning from my mistakes.
