Hello Joe,

Long time no see!!! I know it's been a while since I posted any thing
But I do read the messages!!! I'm glad to see that you have kept up
your site it is very helpful especially to those who are just starting
out in the world of pharmacy techs!!! I know it helped me a lot!!! I
was wondering if there is any website or even a book that would have a
list of commonly used CII and CIII drugs? We have been looking at some
sites but none really have a list or they only have the top 10? if you
or anyone on tech lectures can help with this I would greatly
appreciate it!!! Have a great day!!!

Thanks a bunch,
Bernedette

Hey Bernadette,

Ask & Ye shall receive:

http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/pubs/scheduling.html

This is a list published & updated by the U.S. Dept. Of Justice that
contains a really good list of Scheds. 2-5 but also contains some
that that even though they might not be Sched. 1 AND we know that WE
don't 'USE' these drugs in our pharmacies because they are 'ILLEGAL'
are not Schedule 1...

ONLY IN CERTAIN REALLY SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES LIKE FOR R&D OR FOR
SCIENTISTS TO BE ABLE TO OBTAIN TO USE TO FIGURE OUT HOW 'DESIGNER
DRUGS' ARE BEING MADE.

For instance Ketamine, Lysergic Acid, and Lysergic Acid Amide are
Schedule 3.....

BUT...

Unless you are a VET, you won't have LEGAL access to Ketamine.

Just as unless you are some sort of scientist or criminalist, you do
not have LEGAL access to LSD precursors.

ALSO the website does say that this is not necessarily a 'complete'
list but I think that they are saying this because it is now federal
Law that just because you are a street drug/'designer drug' 'COOK'
and 'make something' that the DEA/USDOJ has not yet 'Scheduled' then
they can still prosecute you for making or distributing a hazardous
drug even though the 'drug' that you have 'made' is not 'strictly' on
the Sched. 1 list or it is a New Chemical Entity.

Hope this helps,

Christian B. Oliver CPhT
