Hi everyone,
I'm looking to launch a photoblog project using Movable Type - I wonder if anyone out there can direct me to:
1. Inspiring blogs powered by MT 2. Useful tutorials and resources that would guide a first-time MT photo publisher?
3. Anything else that would be helpful
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
Best, AA

inspiring is a very subjective category, but a friend of
mine and myself
are using MT for our photoblogs:

not that i know of, but if you find some, i'd be interested
too.
> 3. Anything else that would be helpful
be prepared that MT is a general blogging engine, not a
photoblog-aimed
one. therefore a few things are not trivial, automatic
EXIF-data comes to
my mind at first, which is only available through a plugin,
which i've
never tried.

Also, most of the old plugins don't work well - or not at
all - with
dynamic pages.
If you have specific MT-related questions, I'm glad to help.

Andy,
Is there some specific functionality you like in MT? I find
that for
photoblogging Pixelpost is the best, templates are very
simple,
installation is a snap. I tried MT and WP at first but got
kinda lost
in amount of modifications that have to be made to look like
photoblog.

Not tied to MT, I don't think - I'm developing an idea to produce a photoblog that features an image a day from the collections of the Wisconsin Historical Society Visual Materials archive, where I work - the WHS website is using MT all over the place, so it seemed a logical choice. I'm familiar with Pixelpost though, so maybe it's a good bet.
Pixelpost and WordPress can be installed on your server, right?

Chromasia [1] is probably one of the more high-profile
photoblogs using
MT, although the look and functionality is provided just as
well with
pixelpost (which I use).

Pixelpost is great at what it does but it only does one picture per page, click picture for previous. You can post more pictures in the description but there's no way to post just text, or a bunch of thumbnails, or an embedded video, instead of the main picture. I found that a bit limiting so I switched to Wordpress, but Wordpress is hard to design for- MT tags are easier.
