Voltants

Your backyard, your room, the office, the bus stop... Those
places so
familiar that sometimes escape the lens, but still represent
our
deepest imaginary. Voltants.com aims to be a space for those
places to
meet, traversing seas, drawing us in, projecting us.

Fotonauta and Barcelona Photobloggers invite all persons
interested in
photography to participate uploading their images to
voltants.com,
making this website a meeting point between your own
surroundings and
what is around others but far from you.

The first edition of voltants will take place at the
international
photography and image show Sonimagfoto 2007 in Barcelona.
All images
uploaded to voltants.com will be on a projection display,
converting
our collective surroundings in contemporary art.

Digital photography in conjunction with the internet allow
us to gain
access to the most remote places yet these places become
proximal;
just as in Catalan, the word voltants refers to the most
proximal
surroundings.
