Hi list,

I recently visited Planet Gentoo and one of the things I
loved was the
custom fields on the header of each post. (aka nick,
homepage, bugs,
etc).

I tried looking to the config.ini and index.html.tmpl to see
if I could
apply the settings to my own Planet, however, it didn't
worked (at all).

My question is:

Is it possible to add custom fields, say homepage, nickname,
etc, to the
config.ini (under each persons entry):

[feed here]
name = Name here
homepage = www here

and have them displayed on the header of each post?

Thank you very much in advance for any help on this!

Happy new year for everybody!

Regards,

Yes -- it is possible to add *anything*.

All you have to do is modify the template to include the
custom fields. For
instance, on Planet GNOME we display contributor nicks on
the main page (so
it's easy to tell who's who depending whether you know them
by face, name or
nick). I just have a 'nick' attribute in their section of
the config file,
and use the following in the template:

  <TMPL_VAR channel_nick>

Very easy, very flexible.
