Plone 2.1.3 to Plone 2.5 cookie authentication problems

I have searched google, plone.org, and several of the
mailing lists without any
clear answers to this (I may be searching on the wrong
thing, not sure).

Anyway, when I upgraded from Plone 2.1.3 to Plone 2.5 I had
no problem creating
a Plone site, logging in, and modifying content. However,
as soon as I copied
over my used Products and Data.fs, system files, etc. I can
no longer login to
my sites copied from my Data.fs or into any new sites I
create through the ZMI.
Is this a common problem or is there a product that could
be interfering with
the login somehow?

The errors I receive are along the lines of the following:

--------------------
Please log in

To access this part of the site, you need to log in with
your user name and
password.
Cookies are not enabled. You must enable cookies before you
can log in.
While cookie authentication is disabled, cookie-based login
is not available.
--------------------
Cookie authentication is disabled. Login portlet not
available.
--------------------

I've looked all over to try and find out how to enable
cookie authentication (or
how to modify whatever isn't working in my current sites)
and haven't been able
to find anything. I've also come across mention of ideas
that Plone should
migrate from CookieCrumbler to SessionCrumbler in 2.5 but I
haven't seen
anything stating that has been done. In fact I haven't
seen any mention of
login related changes within the stuff I've read on 2.5.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Shaddo-X

Do you have a customized version lof ogin_form in your
2.1.3. I had a
similiar problem and traced it to a modified version of
login_form in my
custom skins folder. If you have customized your login_form
you will
have to start with the new version of login_form from 2.5
and make you
modoifications to the new version. Or just stick with the
standard
login_form.
