Hi.

I have installed Zope 2.9.6 and Plone 2.5.1 from source. Everything seems to work fine. I can set up portals, browse them and log into them.

Now, I’m trying to integrate Plone into an LDAP directory. I have read and tried to implement LDAP integration using Group User Folders. To do so, I have deleted the acl_users folder of a plone instance and replaced it with a Group User Folders. I have then connected up LDAP and can see and manage LDAP groups and users from ZMI.

I can’t however login to the portal instance any longer. The login portlet and the main login screen indicate that login is unavailable because cookies are disabled.

How to I enable cookies?

Thanks in advance!

Rob

That acl_users folder that you just deleted contained the
entire login
mechanism, including cookie-based authentication. So
undelete or rebuild it.

It's all different in plone2.5 (which uses plonepas), so
you're best off
by reading some PAS documentation on plone.org. A blog entry
like
http://tinyurl.com/y6nges could give you some additional ideas.

Good luck!

Yes, use PAS. You need LDAPMultiPlugins and LDAPUsersFolder
from
dataflake. You will also need to patch them to enable plone
to create
users. If needed, I can tar up what I have working that is
already patched.

I have a related problem. I'm fairly new to PAS - but I did
get
authentication working via LDAP using LDAPUserFolder 2.8
beta and
LDAPMultiplugin 1.4

I would like to manage my users roles via plone interface as
I have
only read access to LDAP - and there is no appropriate
mapping from
what'sin LDAP to what I need.

even though I have created documents with users
authenticated via LDAP
- I am unable to find those users or adjust their roles.

Should plone be creating a "plone" user for each
user the first time
they authenticate? If so it doesn't seem to be happening.
 Any
advice, or even a place with some documentation relevant to
usage,
rather than installation, would be very appreciated
