LDAP - memberOf attribute

I have a Active Directory server and I connect my Plone
(version 2.5.1) site 
to this server to pump my LDAP users and groups.

I use an Active Directory Multi Plugin (LDAMultiPlugin 1.5
and 
LDAPUserFolder 2.7).

Is it normal that an user who is not in group, can't login
in the Plone 
site. Why I need to map the memberOf attribute in my LDAP
schema?
