(Plone 3.0) |

I have been testing Plone 3 rc2, and would like to do the
following:
Install the 'final' Plone 3 as zeo, then upgrade/migrate the
data.fs in the
ZMI. I can't find anything that says this is possible
upgrade path, so I'm
not sure if this can be done.
I have not done any 3rd party installs, or other
customizations. I am just
looking to keep the existing content and user log-ins.

Should be straight-forward.
Just copy your existing Data.fs file over to the new zeo
server
and migrate from the ZMI of one of its clients.
That should be it.

Ok - I have installed zeo, but I log into ZMI. I have tried
getting there
from port 8100, then changing from port 8100 to 80, but have
not had any
luck.
I have also tried from the console GUI to get in via
localhost:8100/manage
I think I made a change when running Plone 3 rc2 whereas the
default site
pointed to the Plone instance, but I can't find this via
Webmin, so it may
have been done through the VirutalHost Monster.

The etc/zope.conf of your zeo client should mention a port
address
where you can reach it.
Does the event.log of your zeo client show any errors? When
you start
the zeo client in the foreground (bin/zopectl fg) do you see
any errors?

I ended up upgrading to the stand alone version, and
everything is working as
expected.
Some notes on the zeo though -
When I tried to do a restart on the zeocluster, it was never
able to launch.
I'm not sure if it's an OS issue or not. Both clients were
able to start,
but I was unable to access via the port numbers.
I didn't run the fg under the client. I did want to under
the server, but
the script was not in the directory. I'm assuming (now)
that's the client's
role.
