| Plone3 Google Analytics support: how? |
  United States |

Hi,
I saw in the control panel of Plone3 (Site Settings) that
there is a field
for inserting code to enable Google Analytics et al. The
comment above the
field is only marginally helpful:
"For enabling web statistics support for e.g. Google
Analytics. Look at
http://plone.org for snippets
which you can paste here. Do not paste Google
Analytics code here directly; it will not work."
I searched on Plone.org for some time, and found no
documentation (or I'm
blind, which is an option, too... anyway, I found the
developer's log:
http://dev
.plone.org/plone/changeset/12665).
Does anybody know what to insert here, or where these
"code snippets" on
plone.org are to be found?
Utterly grateful,
Heiko

I think the upshot in a longer conversation about this
earlier is that this
isn't working the way it's meant to. This post http://tinyurl.com/2gpjuz

outlines these steps to get it to work:

Darci,
thanks a lot for the pointer!
Very very weird... undocumented feature in UI, workarounds,
etc. Oh well.

I will now try the workaround. Thanks again.
Best,

It was a bug in 3.0, it has been fixed in SVN and will be
included in
Plone 3.0.1.

Any idea how to get Google Analytics support running until
3.0.1 is
released? The steps mentioned in the link below do NOT work,
my google
analytics have been offline since I migrated to the new
Plone.

Please note that 3.0.1 is coming very soon (i.e. tomorrow,
probably).
