Thread: How to upgrade libpython components of Plone 3.x in Windows

How to upgrade libpython components of Plone 3.x in Windows
user name

I am attempting to upgrade from Plone 3.0rc2 (created with
the Windows
installer) to plone 3.02. I have replaced all the Products
components but I
have no idea how to properly install the libpython folders
from "Get Plone
for all versions."

I first tried putting them in PloneDatalibpython. Then I
tried putting
them in PloneZopelibpython. Either way, they don't seem
to get compiled
to pyc files. I also tried executing this (from the README):

"C:Program FilesPlone30Pythonpython.exe"
setup.py install --home
"C:Program FilesPlone30Data", without apparent
results. (The quotes are
required in Windows.)

Where is the proper place to drop these files, and how do I
confirm that
these components are properly upgraded?

Thanks in advance! Dan

http://dev.plone.org/plone/browser/bundles
/3.0/README-BUNDLE-SETUP.txt

In other words, the "3.0-lib" directory should be
renamed to "python" and
dropped in your instance's "lib" directory.

In my install, that's c:Program
FilesPlone30Datalibpython, and I've done
that. How do I confirm that the install was successful?

Dan,

Go into your site's ZMI and you should see an exclamation
point (bang)
next to your portal_migrations. This means that your new
Plone version
is installed, but you still need to _do_ the migration to
start using
your new version.

Have fun!
